A print of ‘Gracias Jose Juan’, a mural that was created and exhibited at MACLA in San Jose during the summer of 2023 in honor of my late older brother. A thank you to him for his love and guidance; inspired by a book he gifted me when I was a child, ‘Stickman: John Trudell.” The illustration uses imagery of my homelands of Durango and central México to challenge the viewer to question the notion of power. Using said visuals to remind us that power comes from the elements, as do we. When we take care of them, they take care of us.
