ReclaMisión

 (2019) I was commissioned by Accion Latina to take part in San Francisco’s Dia de Muertos celebration on 24th Street. I created a four tier altar that was displayed at Brava Theater Center. The altar was made with the intention to honor my older cousin; I used food, clothing and art centered around our family’s rural home state where he was born and raised. Visuals used included photographs I’ve taken on trips to visit our family as well as illustrations I created of Calaveras dressed as a Mexican Style Banda.
